Pink Bridal Luncheon Invitations

Pink bridal luncheon invitations - I found these today at Zazzle at a little over two dollars per card in quantities of twenty (that doesn't include the 15% discount code offered on all three at the time of this writing). The light and lovely color of pastel pink symbolizes compassion, nurturing and love. Pink is feminine and gentle, affectionate and intimate - all the loving qualities that make a small circle of well-loved friends cherish an afternoon spent together, planning the perfect wedding day.

DIY Wedding Cookie Buffets

DIY wedding cookie buffets - check out this fabulous idea using kraft paper shown below. Always a great idea to include these favorites (fudge, sugar, chocolate chip and iced oatmeal), but also that special cookie that no one expects, which may be the most popular of all. Having said that, have you ever in your entire life met anyone - young or old - who didn't love the taste of Reese's peanut butter cups? You'll need a mini muffin pan to make this recipe and you definitely want to pop those peanut butter cups in the freezer before pressing the unwrapped candy into your hot, freshly baked cookies.

peanut butter cup cookies
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (crunchy is okay too)
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 T milk
  • 40 miniature chocolate covered Reese's peanut butter cups, unwrapped
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift together the flour, salt and baking soda; set aside.

2. Cream together the butter, sugar, peanut butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla and milk. Add the flour mixture; mix well. Shape into 40 balls and place each into an ungreased mini muffin pan.

3. Bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately press a mini peanut butter cup into each ball. Cool and carefully remove from pan.

Button Wedding Ideas

Beautiful buttons - those humble little wooden and plastic discs we dispatched to the bottom of the sewing box have come out of hiding and transformed themselves into beautiful button bouquets, boutonnieres, favors and centerpieces. Too bad we didn't scoop up all of Grandma's charming vintage buttons when we had the chance! See how easily you and I could create a one-of-a-kind button ring bearer pillow - as shown below - with a collection of brightly colored buttons in hot pink, blue, orange and lovely lime green.  Or choose buttons that match the season like copper, sage green, cinnamon and wine for a fall themed wedding.

Black and White Damask Favors

Black and white damask favors - elegant and lovely especially for formal celebrations or a winter themed wedding. I love these small damask favor bags I found today online at Beau Coup. These measure 3.5 by 3 inches and are the perfect size for a few chocolates, nuts or even a small gift such as a round personalized magnet. At just over $15 for a set of twenty five, these small favor bags with coordinating black and white ribbon will cost you just sixty cents each.

Peacock Bridal Hair Clip

Originally I found this peacock hair clip with a combination of bright turquoise, bronze and blue peacock feathers, Russian netting and curly iridescent plumes accented with a stunning rhinestone jewel on Etsy for $64.00 plus shipping. This dramatic headpiece was listed as 4.5 x 5.5 inches with an alligator clip for secure hold and easy positioning. Either it was advertised as a "best seller" or I came to that conclusion on my own based on the large number of sales. As I update this in 2017, this peacock style hair clip is no longer available, but I have seen smaller versions - designed with feathers and rhinestone button embellishments - for less than $20.

Mason Jar Bridal Shower Invitations

These Mason Jar bridal shower invitations are available in 5 x 7 (portrait) and 7 x 5 (landscape), and sell for $2.53 per card for a set of twenty.  For an addition twenty to 25 cents, you can choose a custom edge which includes rounded, bracket, scalloped, ticket or tag. This rustic bridal shower invitation has an easy template to customize with your own names, photo, date, time and location. It's down to earth, friendly and fun. A warm and welcome invite for a rustic themed bridal shower or country style wedding.

Romantic First Dance Wedding Songs

Did you have a romantic first dance wedding song? Or did you let cute and quirky be your guide? I still don't know why my lovely daughter Danielle chose Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGee" to dance with her adoring Dad, but the two of them loved the lyrics so well, who was I to rain on their parade. "At Last" released by Etta James in 1960 appears to be one of the most popular first dance songs in America, followed closely by Frank Sinatra's soulful ballad, "The Way You Look Tonight."

Oh yeah yeah
You smiled, you smiled
Oh and then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
for you are mine...

Birdcage Veils - 3 Stunning Styles!

Have birdcage veils lost their popularity? When Kate Middleton wore a waist length veil on her wedding to Prince William, and her sister Pippa chose a two-tier cathedral length veil with embroidered pearls, these dramatic veils found favor again with brides at home and abroad. But if you're looking for comfort, convenience and affordability, the bird cage veils shown below - paired with an exquisite rhinestone brooch, a feather fascinator, or all by itself, would still be perfect choice for a beach, garden or destination wedding.
